Please forward this email to Colombian authorities and international human rights observers. Following is an English translation of the letter:

I am in shock to hear of the continuous repression against the minga and popular movements in Cauca and throughout Colombia. The solution is not to continue the repression of the minga by ESMAD (Colombian Armed Forces Anti-Disturbance Squadron), it is for President Duque to go to Cauca and meet with the minga to listen to their complaints and give the commitment of the State to end political violence against human rights defenders and social leaders.

I denounce the murder of the youth Jhon Jairo Noscue, member of the Rural Guard of Corinto!

I denounce the attacks by ESMAD against the minga in Cajibío, Purace Coconico, the University of Cauca in Popayán, and in other municipalities!

I demand the immediate freedom of Weimar Avirama, Libardo Holl, and Oscar Quilindo, members of the indigenous reserve of Kokoniko, detained by the Colombian Armed Forces!

I denounce the beating of journalist William Becerra and the confiscation of his camera and cell phone!

I support the demands of the minga for land, dignity, and an end to political violence!
