Dear Secretary General Guterres,

I am writing to urge you and the United Nations to take emergency action to stop an impending invasion of Venezuela by the United States. The threatened invasion by President Donald Trump is a flagrant violation of domestic and international law that will result in countless lost lives. The US is trying to dictate internal and electoral affairs across Latin America in order to entrench far right and fascist governments. The justification for the threat against Venezuela is based on the new Big Lie, the Drug War. The US is not trying to stop the flow of drugs. It is trying to steal Venezuela’s oil, water, and other natural resources for private profit. The US is trying to establish fascism and right-wing rule. The US is using the threat of war to destroy Venezuela and any nation anywhere that does not bow down to the dominance of the US. The possibility of a US invasion of Venezuela must not be allowed to pass.
